Quote of the Day #4

"Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or to lose."
-Lyndon B. Johnson

What it means to me: Looking back at the past is fine, but don't let it affect your future. Just try to make tomorrow better than it was yesterday and don't let it bother you. The future is always something to look forward to and make it worth the wait. But you can't look forward to what's behind you.

What I Think: South Park

I like South Park a lot and I have reasons:

1. It's funny. Just dont take too many of the jokes literally; just appreciate good humor and try not to be offended. South Park is meant not to be taken too seriously.

2. It resembles what some of us or our friends are like. Some of the themes are trying to fit in, following trends, problems at school and home, and sometimes how we forget to grow up.

3. The bad guy always get what he deserves. Usually this is Eric Cartman, who is self-conscious, greedy, racist, and just plain evil sometimes. For example, Cartman receives a million dollars and spends it on his own theme park. His enemy (yet friend), Kyle, gets a hemorrhoid and feels like God has betrayed him. Soon though, Cartman goes through major bankruptcy and Kyle's hemorrhoid disappears. It turns out that God was just testing Kyle's faith.

4. It seems like it could really happen. Even though some of the plots have insane twists and are downright impossible, yet we feel like it could really happen. South Park really puts you into the scene.

5. It has TRUE morals. Seriously, some of the episodes have very good lessons to go along with the plot. For example, when some girls make a list voting boys cutest to ugliest, Kyle is put at the ugliest spot. It really messes him up and even the spirit of Abraham Lincoln visits him. Lincoln shows him a woman who was beautiful in her teenage years, but now is "just about as interesting as a wet carrot". He also shows an unpopular, 'ugly' kid who is practicing the piano. Lincoln tells Kyle that this kid is making a true living for himself, practicing and getting better, preparing for his future.

South park is not for kids; but it is great for adults with an open mind.

Quote of the Day #3

"If there were no God, there would be no Atheists."
-G. K. Chesterton

What it means to me: Atheists do not believe in any God or any other religion. But then who made them? Atheists argue that all living things were created out of cells and molecules. But then who made the cells? Stardust, sunlight, debris? But then what made that? Sooner or later it all comes together. God must have made the things that made the other things! Its all just part of God's big plan.

Quote of the Day #2

"The truth is that there is nothing noble in being superior to somebody else. The only real nobility is in being superior to your former self."
-Whitney Young

What it means to me: Ever been to a sports game and seen a fight break out? Yeah, I know. Competition can get tough, and there is such thing as being TOO competitive. There will always be someone better and even someone to top the better man! It never ends! Rather than always having hard feelings towards your competitors, just do your best. Then next game try to do even better. You will notice that you are having way more fun than usual and getting better along the way! Always try to top your past efforts and never give up.

Quote of the Day #1

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
-Albert Einstein

What it means to me: Many people argue about evolution or creation, and whether it is possible to come back from the dead. We shouldn't be fighting about whose belief is correct...because maybe they both happened, but only God knows. We should spend our time making the future a better place with science developing new things and religion giving us moral values. I don't know about you, but I would rather do that than just argue all the time.
